Matthew Braunginn

Senior Associate

Matthew Braunginn is a senior associate with the Mayors Innovation Project, he focuses his work on governance, civil rights, public safety, health, and building stronger communities. Through it all, Matthew uses an equity and race lens, using a historical context, to make sure when thinking about policy, marginalized populations are centered and not forgotten. He has helped build and train grassroots activists from around Wisconsin and has worked with local leaders in Madison to address its long standing racial disparities. Matthew also uses his writing as a platform to challenge people to see and understands the economic and racial disparities within our society, through a historical and sociological context, for us to better address the challenges we face today at both an individual and societal level. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he received a degree in Political Science.
